The following pages are for the Columbia Studio Bookings (and Benton & Bowles –the advertising agency) for narrations that would go with Lehmann’s 1941 radio broadcasts. We are missing some of the pages, but these sessions were held in Studio B, 485 Madison Ave., NYC, NY. The dates were April 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 1941 and September 22, 23, 24, 29 1941 in Studios B and E. There were obviously others that would account for Lehmann’s farewell to the radio series after war was declared in December 1941. The ad copy instructions show that her narration was to be used with selected Columbia 78s. At some point she recorded these afresh for the radio. That resulted in the set of LPs that UCSB released for the Lehmann Centennial that are also now available on CDs. In the background of Lehmann’s narration we hear Paul Ulanowsky playing some of the piano parts, although his name is missing from these recording sheets.
